I've been torn and seem to go back and forth on this. What I have a problem with it is.. that sometimes these subjects earn squat. There are a few sites I'm very interested in and knowledgeable about, and end up writing great content and spend massive amount of time on them.. only to see them earn pennies per month. I do have other sites I'm interested in that earn a good portion of my earnings, so I'm not saying all sites you're interested in will not reward you in the end. Maybe I should focus it and say to invest in good potential earning sites that you're passionate about.. heh. It is funny how after going through Internet marketing and building business online how ideas change from the begin to now. First thought that enters people's mind is to create ebooks and whatnot only to find they have no community to sell it to. Then the next product/service and so on. Then eventually you realize becoming an authority in specific niches is where the money is at. As well as learning how the "big boys" got to where they were was a lot of time and effort. So, one thing I digress on would be picking topics you are passionate about. I have started many sites only to let them completely slide because I no longer have interest in the topic even though the site still makes some money. I am sure this is much more of an individual issue more than a good or bad idea over all. It is usually easier to stick with topics that you know a little more about or what to learn more about. I'm not too far into my internet career, but one of the biggest things that held me back to start with was that I was working on way too many sites at once.
