Just got the email today that Bookmarking Demon 5 is official out and available. This is absolutely great news since BMD4 was having all sorts of trouble as of late. I’ll post a follow up post on my thoughts of the new features, and how the migration of accounts went (basically, I’ll put together a full review of Bookmarking Demon 5). I’m particular excited about the scheduler feature where you can drip submit to bookmarking sites, and the inclusion of phpDug sites.

If you’re unfamiliar with Bookmarking Demon, it’s a great piece of software where you create social bookmarking accounts and submit sites to them. You can create many accounts, and also submit ‘filler’ RSS feeds to make your bookmarking submissions seem more natural. By creating a level of bookmark backlinks you can help increase your rank in the SERPs and eventually gain more traffic. Granted this quality of traffic seems pretty poor in general, but the SERP position is the greatest benefit of the tool… and that’s the traffic you want in the long run.

A word of warning, if you do not make this look natural and are clearly self-promoting your ‘money sites’, then you could be de-indexed from Google or have specific social bookmarking accounts banned. The trick is to promote pages relating to your site, not your sites directly.

The bottom line, it’s a great tool for generating backlinks and search traffic to your sites. It’s awesome tool for the fact that it saves you a ton of time by doing things for you vs. manually doing it by hand. You should really check out the promotional video.. since is shows some of the features.

- Multi-threading for both account creation and bookmarking.
- New open source bookmarking script PHPDug added.
- Added a Scheduler.
- Email verification system added.
- A better project management system.

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about Submit Edge directory service. I decided to give them a shot, since a few friends/associates seem to be using them as well.

My initial test was with a single web site (store front type of site). It was showing some decent potential in earnings, but not well indexed in the search engines. I figured I would see what I could do with this site and improve it’s overall ranking as well as specific keyword ranking.

I purchased the 200 directory submission service package – 7 days plan. It took exactly 7 days for me to get the report. The report was very nice, breakdown of directory and PR related to that directory. They also created a gmail account which they use as the submission email. Logging into this account, I verified that they did indeed submit to the directories listed. Some of the directories denied the listing, but the majority of them accepted the listings.

Now we’re a few weeks after the submissions, and I’m starting to see backlinks being indexed (mostly in Yahoo). Turning on my SEO Elite, I can run a few reports, and verify that some of the directories are being indexed with my link there, as well as increase on keywords that I used when I submitted the site to those directories.

I think the service is a absolute bargain. $25 dollars to submit to those directories saved me a lot of time, and I’m starting to see some results. I’ll continue to monitor this domain, but will be submitting a few new Amazon store sites next and see if I can kick start some traffic and increase keyword rank. Overall, thumbs up on this service!

Over the last two months, I’ve been working two new (not sure why new to me) areas of affiliate or internet marketing. Those are areas are the use of tools to speed up research and processes and more serious approach to SEO (Search Engine Marketing).

This post, in a way, combines the two. A few people in the past had recommended the SubmitEdge service, but I thought I take a closer look last week. What is SubmitEdge? It’s a service that will submit your site depending on the service you desire. Their description says it quite well:

Ok, this sounds ‘good’, but I wasn’t sold. I’ve heard and read this before. I was waiting for the punchline, etc. One of the things I was mostly interested in was their Directory Submission SEO service. I’ve been working on getting more backlinks to my ‘test’ SEO site and saw that they offer a great deal for this.

Here is what they have to say about their Directory Submission service:

As #7 pointed out, we’re talking 8 cents per directory! That’s gold to me. The amount of time and effort for me to do this is WAY more expensive. I initially went with the 200 Directory Submission Service Package – 7 Days with only costs $25.00! To me this price is fantastic. What I’m looking for is the quality backlinks. They do submit to multiple PR rated directories.

The process is very simple as well. After you pay for a service package, you are directed to a form. This form will ask you some basic information:

1. Name (which could be real or fake.. whatever)
2. URL (root URL to your site)
3. Titles 1-10 (Here is where you would include keywords in variations of your title)
4. Long Description 1-10 (Here is where would include different descriptions including keywords)
5. Keywords (keywords associated to your submissions – long and short tail)
6. Category 1-5 (Different categories depending on what the directory offers)

My package is a 7 Day submit, so they will submit to 200 directories over the course of 7 days. They have various packages.. like SEO-Friendly 5000 Directory Submission Service – 500 Manual Directory Submissions every 15 days for 150 Days. As you can see, directory submissions for 15 days over the course of 150 days. Makes it VERY natural. This service costs ($499), but getting 5000 submission is pretty sweet. Services range from $15 (100 Directory Submission – 5 Days) to $499 (what I mentioned earlier), so you can find something that fits your needs or budget.

If you’re looking to pump up your backlinks, I would take a very close look at SubmitEdge, and paying $10 or $25 is a no-brainer for testing!

The last few weeks I’ve been doing some heavy research on how to increase my backlinks and to improve my overall organic traffic to various hub blogs and store fronts. In the past, I would Google my keyword and see if there were opportunities to submit a backlink, etc. The problem with this technique is that it takes so much time to find these sites, track these sites and to submit comments. I’ve been on a real kick lately on how to automate process and be more productive with my time.

To address this problem, I recently purchased Blog Comment Demon by EdwinSoft. I’ve read a few sites / markters that use this. They were all impressed, so I thought I would give it a shot. I have to say, it’s pretty dang awesome.  THIS IS NOT A BLACKHAT TOOL, but a simple blog discovery and management tool. This will not automatically post gibberish across the internet spewing your backlinks, but it’s a tool where you can do keyword searches and find blogs related to your search.

The program searches for blogs related to your keyword(s) and returns you a list of blogs to choose from. It provides you great information such as dofollow vs. nofollow sites, page rank, outbound links, etc. There is a built in browser in the tool, so simply double clicking one of the results will open the site in the browser below where you can read the post and contribute to the discussion (while providing a backlink).

One thing that I liked immediately, is that you can create ‘projects’. Meaning if I do a search for a keyword, I can store that search result and add to it later down the road. This speeds the process of finding niche type blogs immensely. It will record the ‘submit’ date of your comment. You can also check to see if blogs approved your comments. By setting up projects you can create category / project groups for your niche sites and add this to your daily schedule. I can’t wait till I can get a assistant to start working this tool (I can dream can’t I?).

Below is a screen shot of the search result screen showing ‘DoFollow’ blogs. This screen shot also shows additional column headings (Type of blog, TLD Page Rank, Tag, Number of Comments and Outgoing links). All useful information when finding great blogs.

Blog Comment Demon in my opinion is a fantastic tool and a must have. The cost is only $47.00 for the tool. The software interface is well written and is easy to use. Definitely my hats off to EdwinSoft for producing a slick program. If you’re into increasing your backlink counts, this is the tool for you. I currently have many domains focusing on primary niches with additional micro-niche sites. Over the years, I’ve paid little attention to SEO aspects on generating traffic. One reason I haven’t been a fan is the type of visitors that sometimes arrive to the site organically.  Last year I wrote a post titled “Readers vs. Buyers” that discuss getting targeted visitors that want to buy to your site. I always felt that general SEO traffic would be “readers”, but now, I realize that I am WRONG with this thinking. In general terms, I was correct, but you definitely could target organic “buyers” by focusing on the proper keywords and couple that with useful hub blogs to bring interested buyers to your EPN or CJ store front pages.

One of the keys to gather any kind of organic traffic is to create MANY quality backlinks to your sites. Currently, I’m focusing on establishing backlinks to the hub blogs since these sites will be content rich and will work easily with continued updates to social networks and bookmark sites. Of course inside of these hub blogs there will be many links going to my store front domains based on keywords.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be going into more detail on how I’m getting backlinks and some of the tools I’m using to help automate the process.

As some of you know, if you’ve been following me, I primarily focus on storefronts, either with EPN or CJ or a mixture of both. Overall, they are light in content, and I’m in the process of pumping them up with category descriptions and additional home page content, etc. I’ve often thought about including blogs for these sites, but unfortunately, most of my money makers are micro-niche sites. Niches that are very narrow and specific. I have many micro-niche sites that are related to a primary niche of field. The thought of including blogs would be extremely difficult.

What I’m deciding to do is to create, what I’m going to call, a “hub blog”. Basically, I’m going to take one of my primary niche sites that have slowed down a bit, which is related to several micro-niche sites and convert that into a storefront/blog. By doing this, I can blog on various topics that can cover one or more of my micro-niche sites and include backlinks, coupons, discounts, etc related. I’ll also be able to create a blog roll of all my micro-niche sites on this blog.

After I create a few of my hub blogs by identifying primary niches my micro-niches are related to, I’ll work on schedule of writing (possibly contracting out some freelance work), and promoting this on many social networks including Twitter.

There are a few things I’m liking about this idea.

1. This will be easier to maintain and write for
2. This will give me a platform to promote offers to multiple sites in a single area
3. This will help create a brand for the primary niche which I can promote with a identity (ie: on Twitter)

I will most likely be using WordPress for these blogs. I’ve created several ‘support sites’ using Blogger, etc. which I will continue to do. Anything to increase the traffic and backlink network should help in the end. I’ll keep you posted.

I’ve discussed a few strategies with other affiliate marketers over the years on how to create a backlink network for your sites. This is also heavily discussed and described well at Wealthy Affiliate.

The goal is to drive organic traffic to your ‘money site’ by improving your page rank score via backlinks. I personally like to drive traffic with a combination of organic and PPC traffic and not restrict myself to one or the other. The down side to this, is it can be difficult to fully see what’s working for you. If you’re doing PPC, you’ll want to be sure you’re capturing keywords somehow. By doing so, you’ll have a better grasp of how traffic is getting there and most importantly, what traffic is converting.

To create a simple network of backlinks, I like to use a couple of sites… Squidoo and Blogger. You’ll want to do some keyword research for phrases and keywords that will match your niche. That basic concept is to link Blogger and Squidoo to your money site. Create a Squidoo lens by writing a good article on the topic. Make sure you include keyword phrases in titles, bold formatting and/or heading tags. Next create a Blogger account and create blogs dedicated to the niche topic, similar to how you did with Squidoo. It’s important that you don’t use the same content in the two locations. They can be similar, but make them different!

After the site is ranked, add your links from Blogger and Squidoo to your money site. I’ve also played with pointing Blogger to Squidoo instead of linking direct to the money site, and vice versa. I’ve also played with linking the money site back to blogger and/or squidoo. It’s important to test and experiment, but it’s just as important to track your results and get some data on how effective your tests were.

You would then grow the network by creating more Squidoo lenses and Blogger sites to promote even further. Again, please do not use the same content!!! Submit your Squidoo and Blogger sites to social networks for some additional action.

The latest, greatest tool I discovered to help work on backlinks is Social Marker. This is a great tool to quickly update your social bookmarks with new site launches. You simply add the title, URL, description text and tags. Then you select what sites you’d like to submit to. You can pre-select sites based on popularity, dofollow links, news, etc. One thing that is super great is the ability to easily register to sites you’re not yet registered with.

At first I was a bit confused. It basically uses a frameset to send you to the various social bookmarking sites. You click login, then submit to insert the data. Some sites require you to manually add bookmark data, but most will be auto-populated with the social marker script. When you’re done, you click ‘next’ in the tab and it sends you to the next site.

I started using this while working on my own 30 day challenge. As of 10/18, I was able to create the three sites originally set. I have made a total of $35 in gross earnings. I’m promoting all three sites with PPC, so my net is basically break even right now. Two of the sites are showing great promise, so we’ll see if things kick up before the end of the month. Regardless, it was good to get out three new sites.
